Overview

Tucked away on Sherman Way in North Hollywood, Tacos Mexico serves up authentic Mexican flavors that resonate with both locals and visitors craving genuine street-style tacos. This unassuming spot has quietly become a cherished gem in the LA Valley, with a menu that emphasizes traditional recipes and fresh ingredients.

The heart of their offerings lies in their expertly crafted tacos. From the smoky, tender Al Pastor to the robust Carne Asada and the savory Chorizo-filled Breakfast Burrito, each bite delivers a balanced burst of flavor. Their street tacos and taco plates exemplify Mexican street food at its finest—simple, satisfying, and made to order. Notably, the 3 Taco Meal paired with a soda gives a hearty, authentic experience that feels both indulgent and approachable. For a twist on classic fare, the Taco Dorado offers a satisfying crunch that contrasts perfectly with the softer tortilla-based options.

Beyond tacos, the mains like Tortas—a Mexican sandwich layered with avocado, beans, and the choice of meat—and Asada Fries laden with white cheese and sour cream reinforce the brand’s commitment to hearty, carefully prepared dishes that celebrate Mexican culinary traditions. Accompaniments of rice, beans, and classic Mexican beverages such as Jarritos and Mexican Coke round out the meal, elevating the experience with authentic touches.

The atmosphere at Tacos Mexico matches its food: friendly, laid-back, and unpretentious. Customers frequently highlight the warm service and inviting environment that make visitors feel welcome from the moment they step in. The current ownership has clearly invested energy in enhancing the dining experience—dishes are served on real plates, reflecting pride in presentation and a step beyond typical takeout fare. This helps create a community-like vibe where smiles and genuine interactions abound.

Though parking can be a challenge, the vibrant, relaxed space offsets this minor inconvenience. The restaurant appeals to a broad audience—from families enjoying Taco Tuesday deals to professionals grabbing fresh lunch—and those who appreciate authentic Mexican cuisine without the frills. The positive shifts under new management have sparked praise for improved service and quality, making Tacos Mexico a destination worth repeated visits.

In summary, Tacos Mexico at North Hollywood offers a sincere slice of Mexican street food culture. The menu strikes a harmonious balance between time-honored dishes and fresh culinary care. Combined with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere, it stands as a strong contender in LA’s bustling Mexican dining scene. For anyone seeking affordable, delicious tacos and a genuine experience, this spot is a must-try.
